Program on Needs of Older Adults Slated

NORTHAMPTON — Dr. Jane Fleishman will present a one-hour discussion on the emotional and intimacy needs of older adults on Sept. 13, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Christopher Heights of Northampton. Although assisted living facilities provide a holistic approach to residential, health, and social/cultural needs for seniors, few discuss their residents’ intimacy, emotional, or sexual needs. Assisted living residents have the same autonomy as adults living in their own homes, while some families of residents may expect more oversight from the facility. The realities of sex and intimacy for residents of assisted living will be explored with a focus on safety and consent.

The presentation is free and open to the public, light refreshments will be provided. Christopher Heights of Northampton is located at 50 Village Hill Road in Northampton.  RSVP’s are requested by Sept. 6 by calling Kristy Livingston at Christopher Heights at (413) 584-0701 or via e-mail to

klivingston@christopherheights.com.
