Runway 5K Set for Sunday
NORTHAMPTON — The Treehouse Foundation is taking off this Sunday for the annual Runway 5K fundraiser at Northampton Airport. More than 400 participants will lace up to support Treehouse’s unique intergenerational living model that serves foster families and older adults — the flagship community is in Easthampton, with plans to expand to Boston, Worcester, and Framingham.
The event offers a warm, family-friendly atmosphere with food, music, fun for kids, and opportunities to explore small airplanes close up. Check-in begins at 8 a.m. with the race kicking off at 9 a.m.
The event’s participants, sponsors, and other donors have raised $117,000 to date. Every dollar raised through the Runway 5K will support foster children and older adults in need.
Treehouse Foundation is an intentional, intergenerational community designed to support children who have experienced foster care through affordable housing and access to services. Its primary goal is to move children into permanent, loving families while surrounding them with a supportive network of neighbors.
Since 2002, the Treehouse Foundation has been at the forefront of transforming child welfare, driving innovation at the local, state, and national levels to improve the lives of children and youth who have experienced foster care.
