Holyoke Pediatric Associates Joins Organization at Boston Children’s Hospital

HOLYOKE — Boston Children’s Hospital announced that Holyoke Pediatric Associates has joined the Pediatric Physicians’ Organization at Boston Children’s Hospital (PPOC). Partnering with pediatricians in Western Mass. supports Boston Children’s Hospital’s mission to provide high-quality care in convenient locations.

The PPOC is a group of more than 290 physicians, 100 nurse practitioners, and physician assistants devoted to pediatric primary care and who work in close collaboration with Boston Children’s Hospital and its pediatric subspecialists. PPOC members practice in 90 locations across Massachusetts, collectively caring for more than 350,000 infants, children, adolescents, and young adults annually.

Holyoke Pediatric Associates was formed in 1971 when four solo pediatricians teamed up and shared space in Holyoke to provide day, night, and weekend coverage. In the years since, Holyoke Pediatric Associates has grown to be the largest pediatric practice in Western Massachusetts, serving patients from Pioneer Valley communities in offices in Holyoke and South Hadley.

“We are thrilled to be joining such a high-quality group and that our physicians are credentialed at Boston Children’s Hospital,” said Michael Zwirko, practice administrator for Holyoke Pediatric Associates. “The partnership enables us to provide patient families access to our team as well as to the number-one-rated children’s hospital in the world.”

Added Richard Lynch, Boston Children’s Hospital’s director of Physician Relations and Outreach, “Boston Children’s Hospital is committed to providing the highest-quality care in the most convenient locations. We’re thrilled that Holyoke Pediatric Associates has joined the Pediatric Physicians’ Organization at Children’s. This new relationship allows Holyoke Pediatric Associates, the PPOC, and Boston Children’s to work closely together to bring the highest-quality care to more children and families in Massachusetts.”
