Radio Days

The success of the 94.7 WMAS Children’s Miracle Network Telethon gave people plenty of reason to smile. Above left, Jennifer Taylor shares a moment with her son, Conner, 2, who is hospitalized at Baystate Children’s Hospital with a gastrointestinal condition. Above right, Sue Gonvalves was on hand when her daughter, Brooke, 7, took to the airwaves with the story of enjoying a birthday party while hospitalized last summer. At right are Melissa Gilbert, TA, and Teresa Gessing, LPN, who work on the Baystate Infant & Children’s Unit.

Slice of History

Eleven-year-old Devon Roy prepares to deliver her memorized speech on Rosa Parks while chatting with WMAS Program Director Rob Anthony during the Radiothon. Hospitalized with respiratory problems, Roy missed her school’s History Fair that day, but her classmates were able to hear the speech live over the air.
